Human Machine Interfaces (HMI)

Operator terminals as well as touch panels are very compact operating and monitoring devices, which can be easily integrated in the open, flexible and scalable AUTOMATIONWORX system via OPC. One Ethernet and two USB interfaces, as well as an optional INTERBUS interface, ensure fast and seamless communication.

Thanks to different display parameters, a variable number of keys, as well as scalable processor capacity, both the operator terminals OT and touch panels TP can be flexibly adapted to the respective application requirements. Visualization is carried out via the Visu+ software for all terminals. Basic settings, such as the assignment of IP addresses, are easily made on the device using an integrated service tool.

Shipbuilding applications put forth special requirements on operation and monitoring devices. Special products have emerged for this purpose. Apart from approvals like GL, LR, BV, DNV and ABS that are necessary for shipbuilding, these devices are characterized by other features as well.

For use on ships and especially on the bridge, the dimming of the display, the integrated horn and the black front are also part of the scope of functions. The two buttons on the front can be used to dim the display by increasing the darkness, during a night journey for example. On a ship, alarm messages are indicated using a horn. Since this is available in every touch panel and has a sufficiently high volume, an external horn is not required.

Thin clients

Operation and monitoring can be done close to the machine thanks to fan-less thin clients. Instead of a hard disk, both the VMTs as well as the panel PCs, to which the thin client family belongs, have a CF card and are equipped with a boot operating system. Without rotating parts, these are suitable for installation in the control cabinet or console.

Vehicle mounted terminals

The Vehicle Mounted Terminals (VMTs) from Phoenix Contact are optimized for industrial use in environments subject to high levels of vibration and moisture. The complete PC is integrated in an attractive magnesium diecast housing and is distinguished by its simple and direct installation on the machine.

Features:

  • CF card instead of hard disk
  • Boot operating system
  • Without a control cabinet
