Phoenix Contact provides a comprehensive range of scalable control systems for DIN rails: Starting from small and medium control systems (ILC) mainly for distributed tasks, and on to highly complex applications as a central control system solution (RFC), our controllers span the complete performance range.


Easily expandable in the control cabinet and even into the field level


All control units have Ethernet on board as a standard feature, as well as an integrated fieldbus master. There are therefore no unexpected additional costs.

Hand in hand with you, our customer, we develop future-oriented solutions for every application, optimally adapted to the particular control task.

Every ILC or RFC controller can be modularly expanded and can thus be adapted to the relevant task without problems. A comprehensive I/O system block portfolio is available for this purpose.

Signal acquisition in the control cabinet

The Inline Modular (IP20) system is available for direct assembly in the control cabinet. Bus couplers as well as function terminals are available for all common networks and functions.

Inline Modular enables a flexible and application-specific configuration of digital and analog I/O channels including the most common standard functions:

  • Counter modules
  • Circuit breaker
  • Safety functions
  • Positioning and temperature control functions
  • Communication modules
  • Controlling pneumatic components

Convenient distributed automation solutions can be realized by aligning Inline Modular I/O channels on the control systems of the ILC device range. Inline bus couplers can be used in all common bus systems.


Signal acquisition directly in the field

Phoenix Contact has a perfect solution for signal acquisition directly in the field as well: Our IP65/67 Fieldline Modular field installation system can be directly integrated in an Inline station via an Inline branch terminal, with absolutely no additional bus couplers.

This combination enables functions such as weight measurement and position recording. HART functions can also be shown. Signals can thus be recorded easily and very conveniently directly in the machine or system.
