Mounting methods for flush-type connectors

Front mounting, cannot be positioned

The M12 flush-type connectors are directly fixed at the front of the device. The plate thickness required is approximately 3 mm.

Device connectors are available with M16 or PG9 fastening threads and have 0.5 m long individual wires.

In case of smaller wall thicknesses, the flush-type connectors are locked using a flat nut. The key surfaces of the fastening thread can be used as protection against rotation.

The mounting section must then be adapted to the connector contour.

The M12 square flange is screwed together with the front side of the device. An integrated seal seals the device.

With their compatibility with the M23 device connectors, the M12 connectors/sockets can be easily integrated into existing housing constructions.

The M12 flush-type connectors that can be positioned freely have been designed for optimum alignment of cable outlets of angled connectors.

Device connectors are fixed into the housing wall and positioned.

After positioning, the device connectors are locked using a fastening nut included in the scope of supply.

These variants are available with M16 or PG9 fastening threads and have 0.5 m long individual wires.

With this shielded M12 angular connector, a device connection angled at 90° can be realized. Thanks to the modular design, different positions, encoding and cable qualities can be offered, e.g. for fieldbus applications.

The angular connector can be positioned freely and fixed at the side of a device into a standard M12 x 1 thread.

Rear mounting - with litz wires and solder contacts

The M12 push-through versions are available for mounting inside the devices. The connector housings are guided from inside through the housing wall and locked from the outside using a flat nut.

In this version, the key surfaces of the fastening thread can optionally be used as protection against rotation.

Rear mounting - with litz wires and solder contacts

All push-through versions are optionally available with 0.5 m long individual wires or dip solder contacts.

The solder versions are available with different contact lengths and shield contacts for fieldbus applications.

These versions can be pre-assembled for easy and quick on-site mounting. Customer-specific solutions are provided on request.

The IP20 compatible I/O connectors that have been specially designed for sensors are included in the COMBICON product range.

Wave soldering and THR PCB assembly

Specially designed flush-type connectors are available for PCB connections. These connectors have different mounting types, sizes and soldering processes. The Through Hole Reflow compatible contact carriers can be fixed and soldered onto a printed circuit board together with the SMD components in the same process and under the same conditions.

The process-optimized geometry and the machine-capable tray packaging guarantee optimum processing in the Pick & Place mounting process. Contact carriers suitable for wave soldering are clipped on the board manually and then soldered. The mounting procedure is identical for both connector types.

The M12 housing components are screwed to the housing. Contact carriers of the completely soldered boards are then moved from inside the device through the pre-assembled connector housing.

As an alternative to customer-specific housings, the M12 screw connection can often be directly integrated into the housing contour. The M8/M12 sensor/actuator flush-type connectors comply with IEC 61076-2-101.
