Conveying technology

Conveyor systems such as skid systems, floor conveyors or electric monorail systems are used to transport vehicle parts between individual systems and act as part buffers.

Flawless material flow is ensured by reliable communication systems such as Profinet, Interbus, Bluetooth or WLAN and an extensive diagnostics concept.

Economic transportation of parts in extended systems
Conveyor systems are indispensable in large production halls in the automotive industry. Cost-effective and service-friendly automation components that can be replaced quickly and easily are required in order to control the costs of the extensive and, mostly, fully automated systems and minimize downtimes.

Moreover, reliable and maximum possible wear-free transmission technologies and extensive diagnostic options are desired. Components and systems by Phoenix Contact offer all this and more.

Transmitting data in harsh industrial environments without wear

Numerous components used in the production of automobiles are mounted on continuously moving system parts or at places that are not easily accessible. Connecting such components with the communication network requires high installation and spare parts costs.

Our wireless components for wire standards such as Bluetooth and WLAN offer a reliable option in this case. The Fieldline Modular Wireless IO modules can be directly mounted on the system without terminal boxes. They transmit time-critical process signals in typ. 10 ms per module over a distance of up to 50 m in industrial halls.

Operator terminals and touch panels for efficient operation and monitoring
Conveyor elements used in production systems can be efficiently operated and monitored using our compact operator terminals and touch panels. Thanks to different display sizes, a variable number of keys and the scalable processor, devices can be optimally adapted to the corresponding application requirements.

Visualization is carried out via the Visu+ software for all terminals. A built-in service tool can be used to configure basic settings such as allocating the IP addresses on the terminal or panel.

Distributed drive solutions reduce the installation cost

There is no need of expensive cabling of a control cabinet if IP400 motor starters and variable frequency drives are used for executing the driving tasks. The IP54 devices are enclosed in a sheet-steel housing and can be directly mounted on the system.

The easy installation also adds to optimizing the installation and maintenance costs, e.g. the pluggable connection method allows removing or attaching an electronics module without changing the wiring.

Effective surge protection prevents system failures

Datatrab DT-LAN-CAT.6+ for high-speed data networks
In addition to repair costs and re-procurement, surge voltages due to lightning strikes or switching operations may lead to a loss of software and data.
Thanks to the use of surge protection devices, a continuous data transfer is ensured even in the case of storms. The Datatrab DT-LAN-CAT.6+ is a device for high-speed data networks and it fulfills the performance requirements as per class Ea (Cat.6+).

The circuit of the multi-function arrester protects input signals of Profinet, Ethernet and Token Ring systems. The protective device can be installed in the switch cabinet near the EDP infrastructure.
