Press plant technology

In order to amortize the high purchase costs, the large presses used in the automotive industry must be operated for a period of 30 years and more.

Thanks to our modular and decentral automation concept, the systems can be easily modernized or adapted to suit the changed requirements as and when needed.

More flexible and quicker due to high-performance communication and installation technology

High output volume and flexibility are required in the press plants. The individual vehicle parts are pressed within a few seconds and transported to the next station for further processing. If the production of a batch size is complete, the presses must be quickly adapted to the new tools.

This requires a high-performance communication system for precise and safe coordination of the processes and a user-friendly installation technology.

INTERBUS Safety - Optimum safety for man and machine

INTERBUS Safety - Fieldbus system
With INTERBUS Safety, Phoenix Contact has developed a safe fieldbus system that is completely adapted to the requirements of the automotive industry.

Apart from the high safety and the quick and cyclical data exchange, the simplicity of the solution is also a highlight: Easy integration into existing networks, easy to operate over the entire lifecycle of the system and easy to adapt to suit the changing application requirements.

Further features of INTERBUS Safety are the short startup times and high availability.

High-performance control technology for every application

Irrespective of whether it is modularly expandable DIN rail-mountable control systems or multi-purpose industrial PCs - our control systems cover every application with a processing speed of up to 0.05 ms for 1 K transfers.

The devices that are available in various performance classes convince through their open interfaces and high uniformity and performance.

Since they are parameterized and programmed uniformly with the IEC 61131-based PC Worx software, entire programs or parts of programs can be reused in other control systems.

Easy assembly using the QUICKON fast connection technology

QUICKON connection method
In order to enable the assembly of connectors even under rough conditions, Phoenix Contact has developed various fast connection technologies. Use of RJ45-QUICKON und M12-QUICKON does not require a special tool for Ethernet and Profinet cabling.

The wires are simply placed in the chambers and pressed into the blades using sealing caps - done!

The QUICKON connection method is also used for the rugged "Variosub Push-Pull" connectors.
