For conductors to be connected, they are simply plugged in. This quick contacting method is suitable for solid and stranded conductors with ferrules. The connection is facilitated by a spiral spring, which is also used in many other devices. When the solid conductor is inserted, the spring opens automatically. Flexible conductors without ferrules can be wired up with a standard screwdriver after the spring is opened.
