INTERFACE Ex - NAMUR isolation amplifier meets the SIL 2 requirements

Phoenix Contact expands its range of products for safety-related applications with 2 more modules: The two isolation amplifiers PI-EX-NAM/RNO-NE and PI-EX-NAMTO-P have corresponded to the SIL 2 requirements since the year of manufacture 2005.

Both modules belong to the user-friendly pluggable product range from Phoenix Contact for use in potentially explosive areas in compliance with protection type EX i. The advantages include space and time saving.
Modular, pluggable NAMUR isolation amplifiers

Space-saving:

  • Width 12.4 mm
  • Direct installation in the jumpering levels of the control cabinet with integrated basic terminal block
  • Basic terminal block with integrated surge protection

Time saving:

  • Pre-wiring of basic terminal blocks. The required electronics can be plugged in later.
  • Quick voltage bridging  through plug-in bridges
  • Quick and safe isolation of signal path through knife disconnection
  • Test sockets for each line.
  • A measuring device can be coupled into the current loops to the field.
  • System cabling through SUB-D, ELKO, FLK if motherboards are used as base elements for the pluggable modules.

The year of manufacture is printed clearly on the modules together with the CE mark.

All product-related information on SIL 2, such as the MTBF time and the changed operating conditions will now be available in the data sheet as a summary. Similarly, an Assessment Report (Summary) is also available there as appendix.
The data sheet can be downloaded from the Internet Download Center.

The CE 05 label can be clearly recognized on the module
