INTERFACE Serial - Serial interface converters for industrial applications
Due to the increasing use of different kinds of automation techniques in all areas of industry, larger and larger amounts of data must be processed. More and more, serial data lines serve to control complex processes and detect process data, thus making them the "arteries" of these processes. A great variety of serial interfaces are used and they are often neither compatible with each other, nor do they meet the increasing requirements regarding resistance to interference, range, or rate of transmission.

The narrow 22.5 mm modules are simply snapped onto the DIN rails and at the same time automatically contact the shield discharge function. For a high degree of transmission reliability, the serial interfaces are also electrically isolated with high-quality 2 kV 3-way isolation.

Serial INTERFACE - Industrial modem
Particularly valuable for remote system monitoring is the configurable warning or fault warning input. When it is activated, the modem dials a freely defined telephone number and sends a saved text message as a fax or SMS. The modem is approved for operation in the public telephone networks in Europe, USA and Canada. Further certifications are possible on request.
This modem has been tested with the most common PLCs from various manufacturers and industrial PCs in numerous applications for remote maintenance.
INTERFACE SERIAL - Bluetooth data transmission
The international license-free radio standard BluetoothTMis suitable for applications in industrial environments. Depending on the system concept, it is possible to realize radio connections across distances of up to 150 m. This radio standard fulfill the requirements for interference-free data transfer via the so-called frequency hopping system (FHSS) in the 2.4 GHz ISM band. The permissible transmission capacity here is 100 mW (20 dBm).
Two different device designs are available based on BluetoothT. The Bluetooth converter PSI-WL-RS232-RS485/BT is the preferred solution in the control cabinet, using an external antenna, and is characterized by the following performance characteristics:

- Supply with 24 V DC or AC
- Transmission rate up to 187.5 kbps
- RS-232, RS-422, RS-485 adjustable
- Supports all common 10/11 bit UART data formats
- 3964R-compatible
- Range up to 150 m
- Protected Bluetooth access via password, fixed device pairing or device access list
- Scalable transmission capacity (-28...20 dBm) for the spatial limits of the radio cell
- Integrated Bluetooth path diagnostics show the signal quality of the wireless connection
The Bluetooth plug adapter PSI-WLPLUG... is already equipped with an integrated antenna. It is simply plugged onto the 9-pos. serial RS-232 port and supplied with 5 V DC via the separate plug-in power supply unit IBS-ECO-LINK... The transmission capacity is 0 dBm and this allows ranges of up to approximately 30 m. This adapter is preferred for temporary maintenance and diagnostics connections.
INTERFACE Serial - Fieldbus Foundation / Profibus PA
It is no longer necessary to over-engineer a system for future expandability when using the new modular approach to Fieldbus Connectivity. Specify what is needed on the front end with the confidence that future expandability is possible with Phoenix Contact's Process Fieldbus Infrastructure System.
INTERFACE SERIAL - Quick mounting plug
The SUB-D connectors SUBCON can be connected fast and conveniently in field conditions without the need for soldering or crimping tools. The connector contacts are cleanly routed onto consecutively numbered screw terminal blocks.
High EMC shielding effect
The connector range SUBCON-.trimmed to the smallest dimensions provides high shielding against EMC influences in industrial environments by virtue of its metallic housing.
Optional cable infeed
The connection block can be inserted in either the upper or lower shell. This allows the cable to be fed in at 0° to 90° from right or left.

Irrespective of whether the application requires 9, 15 or 25-pos. connectors with one or two cable infeeds for point-to-point or RS-485 bus connections. The right variant for every application is available. Optimized designs for PROFIBUS, CANopen and SafetyBUSp with the right cable and tools complete the comprehensive range.
